About the Biltmore Estate

If you have never been to the Biltmore Estate before, you are in for a treat! The Biltmore House, George Vanderbilt's 19th-century chateau, is America's largest home covering four acres including 250 rooms filled with treasures such as Napolean's chess set, Renoir paintings, and tapestries from the 1500s.

There are many energetic adventures and leisurely afternoon activities to enjoy on the 8,000 acres of the Biltmore Estate. Some fun activities you might enjoy include house tours, horseback riding, rafting, wine tasting, kayaking, guided hikes, garden tours, and biking.

Land Rover Experience Driving School Driving excitement on many levels

Increase your off-road driving skills or just discover the fun of piloting new Land Rover vehicles on Biltmore Estate trails. The Land Rover Experience Driving School, led by experienced instructors, offers lessons that cover the basics of expedition-style driving and are customized to fit your skill and comfort level. When you're ready for more, the trail and adventure programs lasting up to a full day put your knowledge to use on more difficult terrain while learning advanced driving techniques. And it's all right at the inn!

Golf in the region's finest courses

Bring your clubs and let the Inn concierge take care of the rest. They can recommend the finest courses in Western North Carolina and arrange your tee times.

Fly-fishing lessons with estate experts

Work on your fly-fishing skills with casting lessons at the Lagoon or fly-tying lessons. All lessons are customized to your skill level.

Carriage rides that follow the seasons

Ride back in time and across the estate in a horse-drawn carriage that follows different routes each season to showcase the best of these natural surroundings. Custom carriage rides for a private escape or romantic tour are available by request with 48-hour advance notice at the concierge's desk

Wagon rides around the Farm Village

Treat yourself to an old-fashioned wagon ride around the around the Winery and Farm Village. Rides are available Saturdays and Sunday and are a treat for the entire family.

Hikes that wind throughout the estate

Explore miles of trails and paths on your own, or sign up for one of the guided naturalist programs that run throughout the spring, summer, and fall. Just check with the concierge for updates on current programs.

Horseback riding along the trails

Saddle up for a ride on the state's expansive trails and natural wonders. These guided trail rides depart daily from the Deerpark Carriage and Trail Ride Barns. For information and reservations, call 800-624-1575.

Bike touring and challenging trail rides

Bring your own bike or rent one of theirs. With a Biltmore Estate Bike Pass, you can follow the paved path by the Lagoon or take more challenging trails.

River float trips and kayaking

Enjoy magnificent views of Biltmore House's west façade as you paddle down the gentle French Broad River. Choose from a guided trip on a raft or recreational kayak.
